Absence Of Life is a Depressive Black Metal project from Minsk, Belarus founded by Forladt (music composing, lyrics, vocals) and Nokt (lyrics, vocals) in 2018.
The first EP - "The Fall" was released at November 2018 as a digital release and as a cassette on the Winter Sky Records label. In 2019 the band cooperated with other musicians for a live concert in Minsk but this line-up didn't last for long and the same year Nokt and Forladt released a single - "Ensomhet" in cooperation with the musician Déhá who recorded drums and did mixing & mastering for it. The next release, in 2021, was the first full-length album "Instinct Of Self-Destruction" recorded by Nokt and Forladt, Déhá recorded drums and did mixing & mastering again, and Belarusian photographer Nat Nazgul made an album cover and shooting for a booklet for a CD Digipak release on the Der neue Weg Productions label.
After that in the year 2022 Nokt left the band and Forladt released 2 instrumental demos - "Hope" and "Alive... To Suffer". For now on Absence Of Life remains the one-man band.
Absence Of Life combines the elements of black metal, dark ambient, with the lyrics and topics of depression, sorrow, pain and despair, experimenting with the sound from a raw demo-like to more modern with adding keyboard, strings and other instruments. The music of Absence Of Life is self-knowledge through self-rejection. Metaphorical renunciation of life, that necessary in order to truly feel it.
